Position Summary
We are seeking an energetic, full-time lay leader with a strong Christian faith to champion and
coordinate our Faith Formation ministries. This vital role includes developing and nurturing
programs and leadership teams across Youth, Parish Education, and Life & Growth ministries.
We are looking for someone who will help cultivate a welcoming, inclusive environment where
individuals of all ages feel supported, equipped, and inspired to grow in faith.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead engaging, age-appropriate youth group activities, events, and
    faith-based experiences
  • Inspire and equip volunteers to lead youth and adult programming
  • Foster consistent, meaningful communication with youth and their families
  • Organize small groups and support groups that respond to spiritual and community
    needs
  • Serve both independently and collaboratively on a dynamic team
  • Lead Bible studies and coordinate local and international service opportunities
  • Provide support with staff and ministry team needs, as requested

Areas of Collaboration

  • Help teach and facilitate Confirmation classes
  • Create lessons that spark spiritual development and deepen faith journeys
  • Support planning and leadership of the annual Mission Trip
  • Integrate Faith Formation into the broader church culture and ministries
  • Strengthen intergenerational relationships across our congregation
  • Participate actively in staff and ministry team meetings
  • Welcome new members through orientation support
  • Expand adult education opportunities alongside Parish Education
  • Partner with the Children’s Education Coordinator to align ministry goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or 2–3 years experience working with youth and
    adults in faith-based or educational settings
  • Understanding of and appreciation for ELCA theology or full-communion denominations
  • Strong alignment with Peace Lutheran Church’s mission, values, and community
  • Warm, enthusiastic presence and a heart for faith development across ages
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
  • Ability to coordinate events and lead with vision
  • Comfort navigating Microsoft Office and Google applications
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends
  • Ability to maintain healthy boundaries and confidentiality
  • Valid driver’s license and successful background check
  • Experience managing ministry budgets is a plus
